If you read my previous post ‘5 things you forgot to thank your bff for’ you know I had to thank this amazing woman for a lot! And today it’s again giving-out-thank-you’s-day. Now in the spotlight stand my little sisters. The only two persons I can find so annoying and still love so much. You would think you’re the one teaching them everything, but the truth is that your little sister- just like mine- have taught us a lot. Here’s my top four lessons learned from these little angels in disguise.

1. To be a leader
Yes, my little sisters taught me to be a leader. If you’re the eldest at home you’re in charge! Note: second in rank, after my parents of course. She looked up to me and listened to almost everything I told her. This taught me how to use power sensibly at an early age.

2. To be protective
Without doubt growing up with two little sisters I automatically developed the protection gene. If someone hurt them, I was there to protect them. You become their biggest supporter and stand up for them if they can’t fight for themselves. It’s a fact your little sister will always be your little sister no matter how old she gets.

3. To be patient
If you’ve a younger sister you can relate to what I mean. She always gets her way, sometimes even at your expense. And she knew it! What did I learn from it? Patience my dears, patience. Always look at the bright sight of life right?

4. To care for someone
From the day she was born I learned how it felt to care for someone beside myself for the first time. I gained a whole new sense of responsibility. She taught me to not only think about myself, but to also think about others. And that’s unconditional love, the most beautiful thing in the world.

Oh dear, I even got a little emotional writing this post. There are so many things I’ve learned from those two. This list falls short to describe all of it. Well, the bottom line is they’re one of the most precious people in my life. But well, let’s keep the fun there. They also can be annoying as hell.
